Hi. U codes mean a loss of communication with a module. In this case it would be your transfer case control module (the computer that controls the shifting in the transfer case). See if you can communicate with the module. If you can't, check power and ground going to it. If you get good power and ground, you're more than likely going to need a module. It should be on the passenger side by the right kick panel behind the panel and carpeting. Make sure to check the ATC fuse in your fuse block under the hood. Hope this helps. Let me know. As far as price, the labor is minimal and and you can find them on line for roughly 300-400 with a 150-200 core.
