Hello, I'm Chris.
I will do my best to answer your question fast and accurate using the info you have provided. Thanks for visiting Just Answer.

What current gear do you have now?

Is the current gear bogging down on take off or at highway speeds?

Is the current gear doing okay or good or bad on the highway for fuel mileage?

Customer replied 337 days and 10 hours ago.

The current gear is a 3.73.
Yes it's bogging down on take off.
It does good for the most part on gas.

A example of what a gear change will do is. At 70 mph with a 3.73 your going to run XX rpm. If you swap to a 4.10 at 70 mph your going to run 250 rpms more. So your looking at a very minimal fuel difference there, but you need a bigger change to get some noticeable power back.

I suggest you run a 4.56 or 4.88. At max I would stop at a 5.13. A good place to get gear sets and the bearings is http://www.ringpinion.com/Default.aspx

Thanks for pressing accept. Please reply and let me know if this is what you needed, also reply and let me know if its not.

Glad I did help,

To answer your follow up question. If you plan to be aggressive off road then yes an axle shaft upgrade at this time would be wise. If you plan to do a little off roading, then the stock axles should hold up fine.
