Have 2006 gmc canyon which needs rear brakes according to the warning light (faulty abs) which came on almost a week ago, but now brake fluid is leaking out of drum on passenger side. Replaced pads on front disc brakes last week so I have some experence. Wondering if I can do rear brakes my self also would I need a brake adjustment tool or will a small flat screwdriver do ?
Hi,you can use a small screwdriver in place of the brake adjustment tool, rear drum shoe replacement is pretty straightforward. If you have not done rear shoe replacement before, my best advise is to do one side at a time. This way you have one side together to use as a reference guide to make sure you put it back together correctly
I can't get the drum off with a screw driver not sure how its done
