Hi, my name is ***** ***** is usually caused by a broken wire in the rubber boot, that goes between the door and the body, have you opened this boot up and inspected the wires?

Customer: replied 10 months ago.
I looked and found nothing broken
Customer: replied 10 months ago.
No broken wires that I can see
Expert:  Tim Mohr replied 10 months ago.

did you cut open the rubber boot?

Customer: replied 10 months ago.
I unplugged the harness and pulled each wire
Customer: replied 10 months ago.
At random prior to this it started working by repeated switching the new switch. Harness was plugged into new motor. New motor would only run one way, up. As I repeatedly rocked it between the up and down it started working. It is in the driver's door.

where did you get the new switch?

Customer: replied 10 months ago.
Local Chevrolet dealer. It is working using the old switch as well now, which leads me away from that being the problem. Its almost like a relay that is bad
Expert:  Tim Mohr replied 10 months ago.

so now it is going down and up?

Customer: replied 10 months ago.
Now it is. In the past it would quit in the up position for a few says then be fine for six months.
Customer: replied 10 months ago.
I unplugged motor in the door and used a test light to check power to both sides of the motor plug. One hot going up and other hot going down. Going up continue hot but very intermittent power going down. Then plugged into motor it would lose all power in down position.

ok, do you have a test light or voltmeter? we need to check grounds at the switch?
