2008 Acadia - Upon driving home the service traction control

Customer Question

2008 Acadia - Upon driving home the service traction control warning came on as well as both warning lights (flashing) the car became very sluggish and I had to really press on the gas to get it going. The engine chugged
JA: OK. To minimize me, please click the down arrow at the top right corner of this box.
Customer: But the brakes worked fine
JA: How many miles are on the car? Are these the orignial brakes?
Customer: Hold on, let me look
JA: Are you hoping to fix this yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: I am not sure if I can fix it, probably not. I just got home now so I haven't tried anything but research online.
JA: Anything else you think the mechanic should know?
Customer: We don't know if these are the original dates, we bought the car from a dealership used.

Hello Dan
Customer: replied 5 months ago.
Are you there?
Expert:  Dan replied 5 months ago.

You have to get this scanned at an auto repair dealer or shop, with those lights on that you describe there will be codes stored.

Customer: replied 5 months ago.
Really? That is all that you have to tell me?
Expert:  Dan replied 5 months ago.

Getting the codes is the first step. Once you have the codes let me know I will leave this question open.

Customer: replied 5 months ago.
Ok. Thank you.
Expert:  Dan replied 5 months ago.

Great, sorry I cannot give you an exact answer right now, as this could be a multitude of different things. Codes will narrow down the problem and keep us on the right track.

Customer: replied 5 months ago.
Ok. I will work on getting it towed somewhere.
Expert:  Dan replied 5 months ago.

You could have plugged cats, I have seen this before on your vehicle. This would not affect the stability control, that is a separate problem.

Customer: replied 5 months ago.
Ok. Am I still getting charged?
Expert:  Dan replied 5 months ago.

Yes you need to contact customer service if you want a refund.
