Hello and thank you for trusting me with your question. My name is ***** ***** I will do my best to help you with your GMC problem.
Is it just the lights in the radio that are inoperative? Do the lights in the gauge panel and a/c control panel still illuminate?
Customer: replied 2 years ago.
Correct..the clock and the radio stations are out. The gauge panel and A?C are still illuminated
Expert:  Dave Nova replied 2 years ago.
The radio backlighting is on the same circuit as the dash and a/c controls. Since the dash and a/c control lighting is still operational, the problem is within the radio itself. You will either need to have the radio repaired or replaced.
