Customer Question

Hi, I have a 327 chevy with dart sr heads and dual valve springs. I am putting a edelbrock tunnel ram on it with the recommended edelbrock cam. I noticed it says don't run with dual springs. We ran an LT1 cam with these with no problem. I cannot get ahold of the guy who put the heads together so I dont know spring pressure. Any ideas other than disassembling my fresh motor? thanks

Hello & Welcome to JA,

If this info come with the intake/cam set up ,I suggest you give Edelbrock a quick call on their hot line. Usually dual springs are run to keep valves from floating at high rpm.If this is a 5500 rpm cam ,that could be the reason. The other reason is wear at lower rpm.
