The DIC buttons change the display on the dash. They are used to display mileage and trip mileage, also stuff like fuel MPG. Here is how to reset your life on the oil and fuel filter.

Always reset the engine oil life to 100 percent after every oil change. It will not reset itself. To reset the Engine Oil Life System on most vehicles:

1. Display the OIL LIFE REMAINING on the DIC. If the vehicle does not have DIC buttons, the vehicle must be in P (Park) to access this display.
2. Press and hold the SET/RESET button on the DIC, or the trip odometer reset stem if the vehicle does not have DIC buttons, for more than five seconds. The oil life will change to 100 percent.

On all vehicles, the Engine Oil Life System can be reset as follows:

1. Turn the ignition to ON/RUN with the engine off.
2. Fully press the accelerator pedal slowly three times within five seconds.
3. Display the OIL LIFE REMAINING on the DIC. If the display shows 100 percent, the system is reset.

For the fuel filter:

This message will appear when a reset is performed either by using the steering wheel controls or following manual procedure.

1. Reset the fuel filter monitor.
2. For vehicles with steering wheel controls, press and hold the select button for 5 seconds while the FUEL FILTER LIFE message is displayed.
This message will appear on the driver information center (DIC) for ten seconds.
3. For vehicles without steering wheel controls, do the following:
3.1Without pressing the pedals, turn the ignition key to the ON position without starting the engine.
3.2Wait 5 seconds.
3.3Completely press the brake and the accelerator pedals simultaneously and hold for 10 seconds. The system is now reset.
3.4Turn the ignition key OFF.
4. The next time the engine is started, the message will no longer be displayed.
ALWAYS reset the FUEL FILTER LIFE system after a fuel filter change.
