Hi my name is XXX, XXXXXXX. Your complete satisfaction is my goal. Please provide as much information about your concern as you can.
These injectors are usually replaced as a set to correct smoking. Any of the injectors can seep just a little, and cause smoking. What are the balance rates now after you replaced the injectors?
just bought the truck at auction it has a bad miss and a lot of smoke if you disable #2 the smoking stops completly, i only replaced the #2 injector and it made no difference i do not know the balance rate
Is it still missing on #2?
yes
Is it white smoke or black smoke?
white or grey
Did the injector sleeve pull out, and was the copper washer seal installed?
the sleeve stayed in place the old copper washer is in place but not replaced with a new one
Any time the injector is removed it is recommended to always replace the copper washer. Regaurdless now, You need to check compression through the glow plug hole. Spec is 380-425 psi.
i am working on getting a compression gauge tomorrow
If the compresion is low, it may be the injecotor sleeve or seal.
Listen to the engine as it is turning over. Does it sound even? or does it sound like one cylinder is coming up quicker?
i sounds like one cylinder may be a little weak
Thats what I thought. Check the compression and you will know for sure. If this engine was chipped it may have piston damage as well.
i will check compression tomorrow may have some more questions thanks
