GM Tech (Cam) :

Hello, I'm Cam. Please include all the details about your issue so I can accurately advise you. I cannot see your vehicle so please be detailed.

GM Tech (Cam) :

What repair are you performing?

JACUSTOMER-xhcztsnf- :

I have a heavy rattle coming from under the steering wheel, I want to remove at least the section of dash that

JACUSTOMER-xhcztsnf- :

is under the steering column to see if I can find out what it is.

GM Tech (Cam) :

Ok, that is likely just loose trim. Put the shfiter into low and the wheel down, pop the trim off around that .

GM Tech (Cam) :

Then remove the 2 screws at the bottom of the lower panel and pop that off.

GM Tech (Cam) :

That will expose most of the lower dash under the wheel to trace down the rattle.

JACUSTOMER-xhcztsnf- :

Standard transmission, I removed the two screws, but that piece seems like it is connected at the top. I did not want force it.

GM Tech (Cam) :

Force it staight out, there are 2 springs clips.

JACUSTOMER-xhcztsnf- :

I'll give it a try

GM Tech (Cam) :

The clips often fall off but you can get them out and attach them again.

JACUSTOMER-xhcztsnf- :

plastic around one of the clips broke

GM Tech (Cam) :

Strange, you pulled straight back?
