How to set time on 1994 350 5.7 gmc suburban no vortec
Hello,I will be glad to try and assist you with this,Welcome to Just Answer.

Hi.

First warm the engine up to normal operating temperature and shut off the ac if it is switched on.

Place the transmission in park for automatic or neutral for manual transmissions.

On the front passenger floor board area near the blower motor just at the bottom of the heater case (you may have to pull the carpet up a bit here) there should be a single wire in a single wire connector. It should be a brown wire with a black stripe on it.With the engine off disconnect this wire connector and let hang.

Install the timing light to the battery and to the number 1 spark plug wire.

Then start the vehicle.

Adjust the distributor until the timing is set at 0 degrees TDC.(this is done by rotating the distributor slightly and lining up the mark on the harmonic balancer with the gage on the timing cover).

Once this is done shut off engine and reconnect wiring connector.

Let me know if you need anything else, click accept if you feel satisfied with your answer as this is how I get credited for my time,Thanks Pete!
