2003 gmc yukon: fuel pump relay..gets hot..Swap relays and truck

Resolved Question:

2003 gmc yukon fuel pump relay gets hot and truck will not start. Swap relays and truck will start for a few days and same problem happens again. Replaced fuel pump. Only one connector on the 8657 relay get hot.

Did you replace the fuel sender assembly ?


Did you closely look at the harness connector terminals to the fuel sender assembly ?

Yes we replaced the fuel sending assembly and harness

Ok,somewhere you have a build up of high resistance.

Test the ground circuit from the under hood electrical center to G104 located

In the Engine Harness, Mounted on the rear of the left cylinder head.


Test the ground circuit from the fuel sender assembly to G110 located

In the Chassis Harness, Mounted to the front of the left front body mount.

These circuits must test at .002 ohms or lower,if not repair ground circuit.
