2002 yukon: abs light..that keeps running..disconnected battery

Resolved Question:

2002 yukon xl - ABS light is on and there is a fan or something that keeps running after ignition is turned off. disconnected battery to stop and save battery from draining. is it safe to drive another ~150 miles...or will it create more damage? Also is this a big $ repair or a relay switch, etc...small $ repair

Hello Customer,

This is probably the abs module keeping the ABS pump running. The ABS module shorts out the internal relay and keeps the abs pump motor running. The Module needs to be replaced to fix this problem.
You can pull the big 60 amp fuse in the under hood fuse box labeled ABS. This will keep the abs brakes from working but will keep the battery from running down and let you drive it to the repair shop.
