I was caught shoplifting of things worth over 60 Euro in dm today, I'm deeply ashamed of what I have done. The police came and wrote down every information from my ID, I was told that letter will be sent to me. Now I'm very concerned, because that was my first crime in my entire life and I just finished my master study, now I'm looking for a job in Germany. I would like to ask:
1) Will this matter leave a permanent criminal record on my document?
2) Will I have difficulties finding a job and get a working permit in Germany because of this?
3) Will I have trouble to apply visas for other countries? eg. UK, USA?
4) Do I have to say "yes" when I'm asked whether I have convicted a crime before for visa or job applications?
5) Will I go to prison or jail?
