I'm German. I have been in the States for 18 years. I think I had some debts besides Bafoeg when I left Germany at a Sparkasse. At the time I moved to the U.S. my account was overdrawn. I don't remember how I took care of it and I am planning to go back to Germany for a visit next year. I may have taken care of it but I was young and dumb. Maybe I never took care of it. How do I know if I took care of it correctly or if a warrant is out for me for overdrawing my checking account. I just dont' remember what I did to take care of that issue back then. The last time I was in Germany on vacation was 16 years ago and I had no problems entering and leaving the country. I am still talking to Bafoeg and I am not in trouble with them as I pay them on a monthly basis.
