I made a contract in July 2007 with a German national, here in the US. The contracts was in reference to an expedition the German national organized and lead, where I participated. The contract determined among other things, that no one can publish his memoirs until the leader does it first. He hasn't done it yet. The contract determined the Court Jurisdiction to be Chemnitz Germany and it had a "salvador" clause.I want to know if there is any statute of limitations under German law. I want to know if there is a way in the German law that would allow me to publish my memoirs.

Dear Customer, thank you for using Just Answer. One of the most important principles in German Law is that contracts must be kept, derived from Roman Law ( pacta sunt servanda)So there is no statute of limitations to the legal obligations caused by a contractThe only way out would lie in interpretation of the contract, what would the parties have wanted if the leader does not publish his memoirs .I hope I was able to helpIf so please click acceptThank youBestC.
