The NetSpend prepaid card allows users to add money to their card accounts through direct deposit, participating reload locations, bank account transfers, PayPal transfers and NetSpend card account transfers. Users can also purchase NetSpend reload packs from retail stores to add money to their card accounts later. In addition, card holders can request the Internal Revenue Service to electronically deposit tax refunds directly to their NetSpend card accounts.
Direct deposits eliminate check-cashing fees and offer free transfers of funds to NetSpend card accounts. Card holders can set up direct deposits for paychecks, pensions and other regular payments. Card holders can also add money from their bank savings and checking accounts, as well as bank debit cards.
