Met an extraordinary woman responsible for saving almost 18000 lost, sick, abandoned cats, arranging foster homes and adoptions thru her charity. She lives in N. VA, Washington suburb. What groups give out humanitarian awards. I would like to submit an application in her name.

Hi,

My name is XXXXX XXXXX I am a Vet Tech as well as a General Specialist. I have done a little research and have found a few organizations for you to contact about the great work done for saving lost, sick and abandoned cats.

This is the first link that is in VA: http://vfhs.org/news-a-events/awards They offer quite a few different awards.

The Next group to contact is the Local Red Cross in the area. They have a Real Hero Award for people who help animals.

The Humane Society of the United States also does several awards. this is how to contact them:

The Humane Society of the United States
2100 L
St., NW
Washington, D.C. 20037
202-452-1100 or(NNN) NNN-NNNNMonday through Friday 8 a.m. to 11
p.m., or Saturday and Sunday 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Eastern time

You also may want to contact the ASPCA : http://www.aspca.org/ , and some of the Cat food companies like Friskies: http://signin.friskies.com/contact/, and Purina: https://www.purina.ca/about/halloffame. Many of the companies offer awards and even foods to People who do special works for animals.

The last Person who I would suggest contacting via her website is Ellen Degeres: http://www.ellentv.com/inspiring/ She not only does awards, but offers cash for those who do for animals.

I hope your friend gets some recognition for the wonderful work she does. Joan
