What type of pants would be a warmer alternative to Jeans for the cold winter?
sweat pants.

Hello,

If you like wearing jeans, you can always wear thermal underwear under the jeans which would keep you nice and toasty.

LL Bean has a flannel lined jeans which are much warmer than regular Jeans: http://www.llbean.com/llb/shop/32781?feat=590-GN1&page=bean-s-double-l-jeans-flannel-lined-classic-fit This might be good if jeans are more your style.

Another choice would be wool pants or trousers which are warm in the winter. http://www.llbean.com/llb/shop/78306?feat=590-GN1&page=year-round-wool-trousers-hidden-comfort-plain-front

The last choice would be ski/snow pants which are also very warm when in cold weather. http://www.dickssportinggoods.com/info/index.jsp?categoryId=12084885

I hope these choices help with resolving your cold weather dilema.

Hi- Thanks for your question!

The following are ideas for everyday wear rather than for outdoor sports, although I guess they would keep you warm there too:

The thickness of corduroy fabric makes it extremely durable and perfect for the harsh winter weather.

Some of the warmest pants for winter wear are blue jeans lined with flannel. You can find them at many different stores, such as LL Bean(http://www.llbean.com/) and Cabela’s (http://www.cabelas.com/home.jsp). Many brands are also available at http://clothing-and-accessories.become.com/flannel-lined-pants

Carhartt Bib Overalls are warm and are especially good for working outdoors: http://www.hanksclothing.com/carhartt_bib_overalls.html

Wool will definitely keep you warm, maybe even too warm, lol: http://www.filson.com/products/mackinaw-field-pants.14010.html http://johnsonwoolenmills.com/

Cashmere is a more stylish type of wool: http://www.become.com/cashmere-pants

If you want to be warm and make a fashion statement as well, you could also try a pair of stylish leather pants.

This should give you a lot to choose from! Please give me a rating using the star system so I can get credit for my answer. After that, if you need more information, just let me know and I'll be happy to help.

All the best to you, Patience P.

Hi,

One more thing I wanted to bring to your attention is these pants that look casual, but are especially made for cold weather wear. They are a little pricey, but for comfort and keeping warm it may be worth looking into.
