My husband got a job offer in Houston so we will be moving to Houston from Austin tx. I have been doing so much research online and haven't been able to find the information I need.
I was wondering what are some safe, decent areas for a family with children to stay in, in the 77072 zip code or close by since this is where his job is located?(Beechnut Street)
I would also like to know about good apartments and good schools in the areas you will recommend.

Planning to live in a new community is always stress on a family as change is something that everybody has to adapt to.

For your new location in Houston, I have done some research for your review and am sending some of the information to your attention. While I do not live in Houston, I believe this information can be helpful in making a decision on where to locate in this area code.

1. Here is detailed information on the new area code that contains everything from medium home prices to demographics to schools located in the area code: http://www.city-data.com/zips/77072.html

2. As for crime statistics, here is the most recent data provided by the City of Houston Police Department: http://www.houstontx.gov/police/cs/beatpages/cs20g10.htm

3. As for school rankings, here is the latest report done by the Houston Chronicle that was based on topics such as student test scores, attendance and other factors: http://blog.chron.com/k12zone/2012/04/see-how-your-childs-school-ranks/
