What kind of adhesive will affix a small felt emblem on a leather jacket? I do not want to sew it on. I tried Elmers multi-purpose spray adhesive from craft store. followed instructions and applied to back of leather jacket, applied weighted books to lay flat and left 24 hours, it peeled off easily with no effort. Are there other glues or adhesives that will secure it to a smooth leather jacket?
Hello, Thank you for using this service. I wish to introduce myself. I am a Research Librarian with 20+ years of experience.

Leather is one of the more difficult materials in terms of working with and having it make a patch stay on. Most of what I have read on this subject of having a patch stay on is to take it to a shoemaker or even a upholstery shop who can sew the felt emblem on.

If you wish to go the glue route, this morning I spent some time to conduct some research on products on the market that people have used to put patches on their leather jackets. Here are some recommendations:

1. Mighty Mendit has been used by groups that had some luck in getting the patches to stay on the leather: http://www.amazon.com/Mighty-Mendit-MM5000/dp/B001IAWVVW

2. Eco-Flo Leather Weld : http://www.tandyleatherfactory.com/en-usd/product/eco-flo-leather-weld-2655-141.aspx

3. Craft store recommendation Original Tacky Glue: http://www.michaels.com/Aleene's%C2%AE-Original-Tacky-Glue%C2%AE/gc0040,default,pd.html

4. And one more recommendation Aleene's Fabric Fusion Permanent Adhesive: http://www.amazon.com/Aleenes-Fabric-Fusion-Permanent-Adhesive/dp/B00178QSE6
