I came to know of the company through a middleman. He told me that his partner has traded with this company for a few times. He also asked me to conduct a due diligence on this company in order to give me a peace of mind. I just asked them for export licences, company registration documents through the middleman.
Below is the response from the middleman:
I have asked Weng (the seller's mandate) if he has some non-confidential docs to show the buyer. Nevertheless, you have the banking details of the seller. your buyer's attorney is able to check on that to verify its existence as a company. that is very important in itself. Thanks and let me know if that will suffice at this stage.
Leave with me Rita - I'll see what I can find out.
I have checked over 1200 Mazut suppliers, and they do not appear on that global list see here.
The company appears in Santiago White Pages as a personal, not business listing, but not Santiago Yellow Pages.
They are NOT listed on the Santiago Chamber of Commerce.
On the limited amount of information available, I personally would be disinclined to deal with them.
