What is the value for 8 place settings of Francis the first

This answer was rated:

What is the value for 8 place settings of Francis the first sterling silver dinnerware? Dinner forks, salad forks, teaspoons and luncheon size knives. Thank you

Hello,

Welcome and thanks for your question. Replacements.com lists the sterling in new condition at $339 per place setting, $130-200 for a dinner fork, $80 each for the teaspoon and salad fork, and about $50 for the knife, but of course, that is retail.

Ebay has a 65-piece service containing 12 5-piece place setting available for $2900 with no bids. Their buy-it-now price is $$2900. A 48-piece service for 12 with French-blade knives did not sell for $2299, nor did a 32-piece set with luncheon knives sell for $1999. The best recent price was for a 101-piece dinner-size service for 12 with 20 serving pieces that went for $3249.
