just received a check from a seagate company. I am going to be a secret shopper. Is it O.K. to cash it and continue with shopping.
Optional Information: Computer OS: Windows XP Already Tried: Going to the bank for a verifacation that it is really there.

There are many "secret shopper" scams. What were you told to do with the funds once the check clears?
The check has 12-24 hours to clear in my own account. I can use the 1700 dollars in other accounts that they name. They must be in the same day or you miss the next offering. You are allowed to keep what ever you get from the merchants.
What you just described is a common scam. The check you deposited will clear at first, and you will be allowed to withdraw the funds from the bank. However, you will be notified in around one to two weeks later that the check was a forgery, and you will be told to return the money - sometimes under threat of criminal prosecution.
