Hello,

Ben Via Gold is not an additive. It is the seeds of the Salvia hispanica plant, better known as chia. Chia seed has been found to have many different health benefits and is quite good for you. However, you don't need to pay the high prices they seem to want for the Ben Via gold brand. You can buy chia seed in many super markets and most health food stores. I pay $11 for a container the same size as the Ben Via Gold which sells for $29 on their website. The product will have the same benefits. Here is a reputable online source where you can buy the whole seeds or get them ground into a powder to add to smoothies, etc.
