Recently there has been a health warning about carrying liquids, like water or pop in plastic containers. Are there any plactics that are safe to carry liquid in (suc as hard plastics)
Optional Information: Gender: Male Age: 80 Already Tried: Nothing.
Hello pmooney,
At this point, there are a number of studies pointing to the dangers of chemical leaching from plastics that create hormonal disruption. There are dueling opinions between and among scientists, which is sufficient to call into question the safety of plastic for water or other liquids.
Another option you might wish to explore is the lightweight stainless steel water bottle and canteen available on the market that are safe for your liquids. I would recommend purchasing one or more of these and transporting your fluids in them. These new stainless steel bottles are surprisingly lightweight, and have an added bonus of keeping your liquids colder for longer periods. I carry one of these on hikes and just around town and have found it to be preferable to the plastic bottles I once carried.

Kind regards,
Jo
