I have a vinyl couch that is starting to get some tears in the material. It's all on one pad of the seat of couch . Is there a way to repair this without making it too obvious, and a way to prevent it from happening? It's just my wife and I, no kids, and was not ripped by any object, jst seemed to happen over time. Thanks

They make vinyl repair kits, which you can find at most retailers, like Walmart, and they are not very expensive.

If your couch cushion has many, rather wide tears, you might need it to be repaired professionally, or recovered. If you can't turn over the cushion, try the vinyl repair kit and see if that will work for you.

Another possibility is to cover the couch with a fitted slipcover, which will help preserve the material from any more tears, and you can choose any solid color or print you like. These are also available in many stores and online. Here is an example, from Walmart:
