What is the value of this rare violin book. It is in good condition. One like it sold at sothbys twenty years ago for $1000.

"Two Famous Stradivarius Violins King Maximilian and Prince Khevenhuller"

Hello, I found one copy listed in an auction with an estimates sale value of $250-$400. http://www.tarisio.com/pages/auction/auction_item.php?csid=2197389312&cpid=2498019328

I searched the index for Library of Congress and they do not have a copy of this book in their inventory. Many of these rare editions were numbered limited editions and if so the value could increase dramatically. Also if you have a history of who owned the book and trace it back this will help authenticate your book and also increase the value. I can not find another source to value your book. Thank You Tom

I am sorry I didn't give enough information. The book is numbered 174 out of 200 copies printed of the English and 200 copies of the German edition. This work was produced by the Graphic Institute "Ganymed," Berlin.
Hello again, I can find no further information on this book. Would it happen to have an author and publication date? Thanks Tom

Hello, I can add some more information to your search but the original value I gave is the only source I can locate. The book looks to have been printed in 1929 and here is a German Copy http://openlibrary.org/b/OL6729861M/Geschichte_und_Beschreibung_von_zwei_Meisterwerken_des_Antonius_Stradivarius_bekannt_als_die_Ko¨nig_Maximilian_aus_dem_Jahre_1709_und_die_Prinz_Khevenhu¨ller_aus_dem_Jahre_1733

Thank You, XXXXX XXXXX one more idea. There is a National Museum of Music which part of the University of South Dakota http://orgs.usd.edu/nmm/ , They may not only have a way to value your book but a museum may also be a buyer of such a rare manuscript. I will keep looking and should be able to contact you for about a week on this same question. Thanks again Tom
