You can attempt to unlaminate a document but there is no guarantee that it will not be damaged in the process.

Take a sharp blade and cut around the edge of the document. Then take a heat gun and begin to warm the laminate. Now take a flat blade, such as a box cutter blade and slowly start pushing the laminate away from the document. If you are lucky it will start to peal away.

Depending upon the condition of the document and the type of material the document is made of will determine whether or not removing the laminate will be successful.

If this is a rare or irreplaceable document then it may be in your best interest to not attempt this process.
