I am inquiring about the Samsung 10.2 Megapixel Digital Camera.

I am a graphic designer, needing to take photos of professional quality for catalog/print work-shooting my own photographs.

Would this camera be good for me?

Can I get a very good quality print out at either of the following resolutions?

a) 300 ppi
print size: 8-1/2" x 11"
W=2550 pixels
H = 3300 pixels

b) 300 ppi
print size: 5" x 7"
W = 2100 pixels
H = 1500 pixels
I assume you mean this camera

This is a consumer level camera. It will take fine "snapshots" and will produce adequate prints.

If your looking for professional results, you want to look at two areas

Sensor size (physical size, not the number of pixels). Bigger is better. The one your looking at is very small, in line with its competitors

Lens quality. Again, the samsung is great at point and shoot. But if you want professional results there is no substitute for a real that can capture at a variety of aperture settings

SO, choices like this

Or the Cannon offering will net you a much cleaner picture.
