One could also ask whether gender bias will impact whether a woman can get elected president of the United States.

But there are reasons why people won't vote for Hillary Clinton other than the fact she is female, and there are reasons why people won't vote for Barack Obama other than the fact he is black.

AND there are people who won't vote for Hillary because they don't believe she is being truthful about what her personal positions are on various important issues. Or because if she were president then two families would (probably) have occupied the White House for four double terms.

Every candidate has certain characteristics that some people might find cause for "voting for someone else".

And there are those who won't vote at all because of ... well, you get the idea.

Too bad Colin Powell didn't want to run for public office many years ago.

Clarence Thomas is a Supreme Court judge. Too bad HE doesn't want to run for office.

Or perhaps it is that running for office, particularly for President, is something that some potential candidates don't want to go through, perhaps for excellent reasons that have nothing to do with their potential ability to be a fair, honest, and respectable president. (But then, who was our last fair, honest and respectable president anyhow?)
