I have heard of people using light devices to cheat the machines into dropping coins. Here are some articles that talks about them:

Hope that helps,

THIS DOESNT HELP ME SEE WHAT THEY LOOK LIKE AND HOW PEOPLE GET AHOLD OF THEM SO I KNOW WHAT I AM LOOKING FOR AT WORK
Expert:  Selah R, M.S. LPC replied 9 years ago.
There is a company making a device that is supposed to protect the machines from the common cheat methods:

"A firm called iGames Entertainment Inc. has invented a device called the Protector. Easy to use and transferable from machine to machine, it prevents entry up the coin chute by sensing something going the wrong way, disabling the game and alerting authorities."

I can't find their specific website, but I have seen articles that casinos such as Royal Carribean have started using them.

For a picture of one of the tools being used, go here:

High tech =

With LED technology becoming so inexpensive, it's easy to find devices that will fit into the coin hopper (flexible book lights, hardware tools for car mechanics and others working in tight spaces, and even super strong keychains). All of these work by the user putting the device into the coin hopper and shining the light up into the unit. That is the activity security needs to be looking for because these devices can hide inside sleeves.

OK THATS POINTING IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION BUT OURS DO NOT ACCEPT COINS..THEY ACCEPT CASH ONLY. THEY ARE 8 LINER SUPERBALL KENO MACHINES. I REALLY NEED TO FIND WHAT THESE PEOPLE ARE USING.. COME ON I KNOW YOU CAN DO THIS!!
Expert:  Selah R, M.S. LPC replied 9 years ago.
These devices go up into the machine from the coin hopper where the winnings land. Are you saying your machines doesn't dispense coins upon winning?

CORRECT. WHEN THE CUSTOMERS HIT SUMTHING AND WANT TO CASH OUT THEY HAVE TO TICKET OUT AND BRING A SLIP TO ME SHOWING THE AMOUNT. BUT THEY ARE USING SOME TYPE OF DEVICE TO MAKE THESE TYPE OF MACHINCES HIT BIG WINNINGS.

I'm having a really difficult time finding anything about flaws with the TITO slots. The biggest concern seems to be stories about software flaws. If there is a hack, it seems to be a well-kept secret from regular Internet searching! I would recommend contacting some of the magazines that cater for casinos and gamblers and see if they can point you in a direction for getting to the bottom of this. TITO slots seem to be the newest love of the gaming industry because it's supposed to be theft-proof.

Here is article on TITO slots that were allowing over-betting or had software problems that were causing over-wins (too much or too frequent):

Maybe another expert can help with this one.

Ok, I must admit, the devices on this page scare me because they are so small and "normal" (like a car alarm keychain fob?!?) looking.

Some of these say they work on ticket machines.
