Customer Question

My Great Grandparents are named Von der Heide (Great Grandfather) and von Bergen (Great Grandmother), and lived in Hamburg Germany. On March 2, 19806 they had a daughter (Wiebke Katharina Ottoline) who later marrried Johann Heinrich Petersen. I have run into a brick wall tryibf to find any further information on my great grandparents. If I could find birth records, I could trace back further. Where can I look?

Hello,

You wrote: "...My Great Grandparents are named Von der Heide (Great Grandfather) and von Bergen (Great Grandmother), and lived in Hamburg Germany. On March 2, 19806 they had a daughter (Wiebke Katharina Ottoline) who later marrried Johann Heinrich Petersen..."

What else do you know about each of these people besides their surname?

For instance, Wiebke Katharina Ottoline born 19806 is, I'm sure, a typo. Germany does not release information to the general public until 110 years after a birth, so if that is 1986, there isn't anything I can do. However, I can tell you how to obtain a birth record for her.

When and where did she marry Johann Heinrich Petersen?

Without the first names of your great grandparents (Von der Heide and von Bergen) there isn't much that can be done either. Any further information will help.

I'll look forward to your reply.

Best regards,

Schuyler
