Question for Brendan, Hi Brendan, its Kate again, Ive been away so havent asked any questions for a while. From your previous information you said that Morgan Sweeny may have been born in Dungloe, Donegal. Could you please search for a birth for him there around 1802. If he was stationed at Dungloe in 1828 aged 26(this information came from a post on ancestry.com) he probably grew up in Dungloe. Could you search for other Sweenys there siblings or parents. A marriage around 1800 perhaps?
Thanks Kate

Hi Kate,

Welcome back, there are no baptism or marriage records fo Dungloe 1800-1845.

I believe his brothers son was still living in Dungloe 1900

Your Sweeny family come from the townland of Meenmore

Thanks Brendan, there are so many and he could have remarried at any time and in any location. Maybe I should be trying to find when he retired and took a pension, or a death somewhere?Kate

Hi Kate,

The pension records are in the National Archives, Kew, not online

Can you give me a reference for the number of the ADM files that have the Pension details. Do you know if they are available online? thanks kate

Hi Kate,

The pension records are not online. They have to be researched in person.
