No I have not heard from someone. I would like to know where he came from for sure and I may be interested in knowing more depending on what it cost to do further research

Hello,Welcome and thanks for your question. You mention that you know that J. Wolfgang Schoen was born 04 Oct 1834. Can you tell me how you know that?
We can look for church records to confirm births. Most German church reocrds, Catholic, and Protestant have been microfilmed and are available to search online. If there is information online we can find it for you.
We can look for only one person per question.

I have a copy of his death certificate, which only lists his place of birth as Germany. No parents names. He died 9/15/1902 in Toledo, Ohio. His obituary said "his cradle hung in Munich". A relative says he came to America with his 12 year old brother in 1948. His brothers name was Joseph. I am told his brother was born in Pfremid Bavaria Feb 1933. John married Philomena Lehmann Nov 22, 1859 St James Church, White Oak.in Cincinatti Ohio. He had 12 children. I have their names and birthdates.
I was told his parents were not listed on the boat when he came over.
I hope to go to Germany and visit the city where he was from. For some reason I always thought he was born in Bern or something like that. I never heard Minich before, so I am wondering if there are any way to confirm where he was born.
Hello again,
In each census I found him in, he said he was born in Bavaria, but no city was specified. I think that safely rules out that he was born in Bern, Switzerland. I did not find an online birth record in Bavaria or elsewhere in Germany for a Johann Wolfgang Schoen 1834±5 years. There were lots of Josephs born in Bavaria (none in Pfreimd) in 1830-1840 and no way to tell which may have been the brother.
I know this is disappointing for you. It certainly was for me to spend so much time looking and find nothing. Many records in Germany did not survive the world wars, so were unavailable for filming and transcribing into databases. It's always a let down when there are no records for an ancestor.
