Hello,Welcome and thanks for your question. Can you tell me a little more about the situation?
What was the problem getting Albert's birth certificate?
When was Albert National Rutledge born?
Do you have your father's birth certificate from Virginia?
What road blocks are you hitting?
We'll be happy to try to help with any online information and if something isn't online we will let you know how to go about obtaining information.
All the best,
Schuyler
they say that his birth was not recorded or they couldntfind it for that year ne was born Feb 2 1894. no i dont have a copy of my fathers birth certificate yet but i can get one
i dont know my grathers parents names for sure and if he had any brothers or sisters it pretty much stops with uncle connley who raised him from the time he was about 11 - 13 years old. i would like to know if our branch of the rutledge family is part of the edward rutledge who signed the declaration of independence so long ago. and i just cant get anywhere with anything. ANY help would be great.
Thanks for the additional information.
According to his WWII draft registration, he was born 11 Feb 1884 in Johnson City. At the time (27 Apr 1942) he was living in Jonesville, Lee Co., VA and gave his next of kin as Margaret Rutledge of the same place. His name is XXXXX XXXXX XXXXXX Nathanal (perhaps it was meant to be Nathaniel) Rutledge.
Do you know the name of Albert's mother?
I am going to continue working on this for you.
Why have you given me a negative rating when I am still working on the question? You aren't supposed to rate a question until it is complete.
What was Albert's mother's name?
I cannot do anything else for you until you respond and remove that bad service slap in the face. I have suspended researching until this is straightened out.
i dindt hit the bad score for you i dont know how that happened im sorry about that. as far as my grandfathers mothers name all i know is that my mom said she though it was Vinnie or something like that. i really dont know for sure. ill see if i can get a copy of my dads birth certificate maybe my cousin can get me one in jonesville that is the county seat so she might be able to

We can only do one thing per question. This one is to find the parents of Albert N. Rutledge born in Johnson City, TN.
You mentioned that he was raised by his uncle Conley Rutledge, so I looked for Conley to determine who his brothers were.
1860 Census - Abingdon, Washington Co., VA
1880 Census - Abingdon, Washington Co., VA
Next I looked for the Rutledge son who was married to someone named Vinnie or something similar. Here is what I found on Albert's marriage record.
thanks that is a bit more than i knew i wonder tho why it doesnt give his mothers madien name at least i have another place to start going farther backwards. i hope i can keep going back wards. is there anything else you can do to help me with this discovery? any help would be very helpful.
Hello again,
We are really only supposed to do only one thing per question since genealogy research takes so much time. This question has already included both the parents and grandparents of Albert Rutledge, which is a huge bonus. However, below is the marriage record for Charles Rutledge and Vena. This is really all that can be done. It is the equivalent of answering three questions for one payment, of which I get only a fraction.
