We have the wireless adaptor and my router and modem are working properly, but we cannot get the XBox to connect to the internet. It did in the beginning and then stopped. What are we missing here?
Already Tried: Unplugged modem & router. Wireless is working on my laptop.
Hello I would like to help you with this.
What I want to do it his first unplugged the wireless adapter for the Xbox. and then put it back in
This should reset the IP address. Sometimes what can happen is that two devices can be set to the same IP address and it will cause problems.
try to connect to Xbox live. It will probably fail then select test connections or something like that. The Xbox will then try to test the connections and set up the connection to your router
if you have a password set up on your wireless router you're going to have to enter it in order for the Xbox to connect .
Try this and let me know

Thank you,
Carl,
I tried this and it didn't work. I even tried connecting to another wireless network the scan picked up that wasn't password XXXXXXXXX and it didn't work either. It is showing my network but for some reason it won't connect. I entered my password XXX everything.
Then there may be something wrong with your wireless adapter. I assume that you have also restarted the Xbox
Can you tried plugging your XBOX in with a wired network connection to see if it can connect?
you rated I expect more
What more can I help you with?
Nothing you told me to do worked. I goggled it and I think I already found the problem. I believe the problem is that I bought a generic wireless adaptor instead of the Microsoft one. The box said it would work on Xbox 360, but when I googled it I found that the generic brands generally don't work. I don't need anything more from you since I found the answer myself.
