UK Solicitor or French Advocat?Dear Sir. Given the questions I have been asking you regarding divorce proceedings with this French man, who might or might not be under some form of guardianship (and who I do not trust to give me an honest answer or even to sign the divorce papers), in your expert opinion would you suggest I rather choose a French advocat over a UK divorce service? I take it that if I used a French advocat they would naturally find out his guardianship status during the divorce proceedings and be able to help with getting him to sign the papers, whereas if I go through the UK courts I might pay for the divorce but it might not be valid if he has conservatorship correct?
Hi, I’m a moderator for this topic and I wonder whether you’re still waiting for an answer. If you are, please let me know and I will do my best to find a professional to assist you right away. If not, feel free to let me know and I will cancel this question for you. Thank you!
You are indeed correct in your reasoning. Yet considering that you live in the UK and he lives in France you can opt either for French courts, or UK courts. 5you need not only to instruct a lawyer in either country but to have the divorce pronounced by a judge.
