we have signed the initial contract or "compromis" to sell

Customer Question

we have signed the initial contract or "compromis" to sell our house in france. We now wish to pull out. We know that the contract has a clause that we would have to pay 5% in compensation. We are willing to do this but we need to know if there is any other law or penalty that can be brought against us. Can they sue us over and above this ? Thank you.
