Yes I am still waiting as I have not any response to my question yet. Please give me some guidelines:

Donation of 2 peoerties in France given to my late husband from his parents in 1986. They have usifree/the right to use the properties. My late husband's mother died a few months after the donations. My husband died in Jan, 2011 and according to his testament I am his sole heir. The Notary has spent almost a year to come up with a document where my father in law, now 86 yrs old, wants to use his droit de retour (1/8 of each property). Does he have to compensate me for 1/8 or do I have to compensate him - as the Notary claims. What does french law say in these cases?

Relist: I still need help.
I didnt receive any answer to my question. Is there nobody out there who can explain how "droit de retour" works and if the one who uses his droit the retour has to pay compensation to get parts of the property back?
