The US phone number they provide is an IP number, which means they got it online and they could be located literally anywhere in the world. The "address" on their website goes to a building with multiple offices, which is quite unhelpful when trying to locate a company. You couldn't send mail there.
But the point of an internship is that it's supposed to benefit the person doing it. You're supposed to be learning. You're not supposed to have to pay for the privilege of working for someone else.
Even if you're paying for your own housing and stuff, there's no reason in the world to send money to the company setting up the internship. The employer should be doing that.
