I was wondering if you or any other expert with this service would have any knowledge or advice on identity theft protection services. Are there any services like this that are not scams??I've looked at 2 top companies in this field.-Lifelock: Famed for not really offering much protection and their 1$ million dollar insurance only applies if it's "Fault" of lifelock-Identity Force: MANY people complain of extra charges and sneaky business practices done by this company. There are so many complaints of that sort that I have no idea how good the product actually is/isn't
Hi and thank you for using JustAnswer! How often do you check/monitor your own credit reports?
Not very often/regularly
Thank you. Your best option, and the least expensive, is to review your own credit reports on a regular basis. That's what these other services do.There are three credit bureaus. You are entitled to a free report from each one each year. You go to this website: https://www.annualcreditreport.com/cra/index.jspPull out your calendar. Request one free report from one of the bureaus now. Review it for accuracy, follow the directions to dispute any inaccurate information. Four months from now, request a free report from a different credit bureau. Review it for accuracy, follow the directions to dispute any inaccurate information. Four months later, do the same thing with the third credit bureau. This is how you can, for free, actively keep on top of your affairs. If you want to review your reports more frequently, you can. You will just have to pay the bureaus for those extra reports. It has been my pleasure to assist you today with your information needs. It is my goal that you are satisfied. What are your options now?If you wish to continue this conversation, click on the Reply tab. If you are satisfied that I have answered your question, then please rate the answer with “excellent service” so that I receive credit for assisting you. Positive ratings are the only way I receive credit for assisting you today.IF you feel the need to click either "Helped a little" or "I expected more," then do not rate me (not yet, anyway!). Instead, reply to me using the REPLY tab. Specify what additional information you need and I will be happy to continue further and do everything I can to provide you with the service you seek. Thanks, ~~ J.B.
