A person who stated they were from an electricity company called me on the telephone and had my name, address and date of birth details. They discussed upgrading my electricity plan and I provided my VictorXXXXX XXXXXcence number. I have since contacted the electricity company and they believe it is a scam. Do I need to be concerned that whoever called me has my name, address, date of birth and VictorXXXXX XXXXXcence number? Please help, thank you, XXXXX XXXXX
Already Tried: I rang the electricity company. They advised me to call the police which I did. The police advised me to call VicRoads, which I did but they will not change my licence number unless it is deemed by the police to be a serious nature. Vic Roads advised me to call consumer affairs to log it as a scam - which I did. Consumer affairs advised me to call Australian Federal Police in case of identify fraud - which I did. AFP advised me to contact you.
