Hey I received the following info from Barrister Solomon Gabby who consider himself a lawyer is there any way I can find out is he legiate?
Hello Mr Leon,As a matter of fact,I have spoken with Miss Jessica and She has asked me to carry on with my job.
The First step now..I need some fund to carry on.I need to meet up with some attorney and i need to get some vital document to proceed .I am requesting a total sum of $1000.
I need to get this between today or tomorrow in order to fasten the job .

Miss Jessica has already told me she does not want to stay long here in Nigeria.

At present it is unfortunately not possible to check the legitimacy of Nigerian lawyers because the Nigerian Bar website's search facility does not work and we can't check the official register.

However, this certainly looks like a scam. Such types of scams, also known as ‘advance-fee fraud’ are unfortunately extremely common these days and many unsuspecting victims fall for them. There are literally millions such emails, letters and text messages sent each day.

The ways in which such scams operate are as follows:

You are contacted and promised a large return, such as an inheritance. The usual story is that you have been named you as a beneficiary in their will.
Before you are entitled to receive this large sum of money, you are asked to pay certain fees, usually to obtain certain certificates, for administrative costs, taxes, etc. This is the advance-fee part of the scam. In reality, if you would not be expected to pay any fees upfront and the reasons stated are never genuine. Here, he lawyer has already asked for their fees up front which is a common excuse used
Another clue is the dubious methods by which you are expected to pay that money. Usually it is through Western Union, Moneygram, or by buying pre-paid cards or vouchers. All methods are commonly used by fraudsters due to the very low fraud protection they offer to the payers.

If you were due to pay any money or send further information, DO NOT do so - you will be stung and lose any money you send.
