I have been contacted by a company known as Craft Central, Inc., contact person Rick Greenberg. The company claims to need online processors. Is this company a scam?
Hello, Jacustomer,Yes, I think this is likely to be a scam. First of all the company is in the UK. Scam companies usually reach out to people from other countries. In that way, they can make it much more difficult for law enforcement to detect them once the scam is uncovered. However, I have looked up their information and they claim to be a UK company, located in Lancashire. Their web registration information says that they have only been up and runniing since January. New companies have no track record, and therefore outright scams are almost always new companies. But that's not the main thing. Every UK company must be registered with Companies House, an agency that keeps all of the corporate records and tax filliings for the whole of the UK. There was once a Craft Central at a different location, but it was dissolved two years ago. If there is no Craft Central showing in Companies House as an active Lancashire business, then it is not legitimate.Generally, these so-called processing jobs from abroad involve the company using the "employee's" bank account to accept checks and then wire back some to the company. No legitimate business ever processes its monies through an employee's account. For one thing, it would be a tax dodge. But for another, it's a sign that the "boss" is launderiing ill-gotten gains through the employee's account. There is only one reason for doing something like this, and that is to make the path of wrondoing stop with you rather than with your so-called employees. When the game goes bad as it always eventually does, you can wind up indicted for bank fraud.Avoid this.FranL41052.5643649306
