Intermittent oil light. my daughter delayed oil changes.

intermittent oil light. my daughter delayed oil changes. what are the chances its the sending unit. The light flashes on at idle, goes off when engine speed is increases.
JA: Just to clarify, can you tell me which light it is? And does it blink first, then stay on steady?
Customer: oil pressure light....flashes on and off at idle. Sometimes it will stay on until engine speeds up.....new oil and filter were installed.
JA: What is the model/year of your Ford?
Customer: 02 Merc Sable...3/0 duratec V6
JA: Are you fixing your Sable yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: Yes.... Oil and filter changed 2 days ago....Oil was clean when changed

Hi Im David if the light goes out and stays out while the car is going, then i doubt its the sending unit. is there an oil pressure gauge on the dash?
