2008 Taurus with no power to anything, but head lights flashing rapidly. All interior and dash lights dead. Battery connections tight, keys replaced last year, reset computer for ten minutes,
JA: Is the power loss consistent, or does it fluctuate?
Customer: flickers on off at key ignition when trying to start it. airbag light only thing flickering on dash
JA: Are you fixing your Taurus yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: yes doing myself. battery tested good, keys good, reset computer, reset key fobs
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?

Hello, how did you test the battery? If the battery is good then you probably have a bad positive or negative battery cable. Your symptoms match having a bad ground or dead battery.

Can the battery read 12 volts and be bad?

Yes a battery can read 12v and still be bad. That is why an open circuit test with a multi meter isn't the best test. 12.2v is considered a 25% state of charge or below. I would see if you can jump start the battery.
