My heater system is making a clapping sound. it is most

Customer Question

My heater system is making a clapping sound. it is most prevalent when hot is selected. it deminishes when I select cold. AC works but I can't get heat.
JA: Have you checked the coolant level? Has there been any leaking from the hoses?
Customer: Yes I have checked cooling level. It is OK. I removed the molding from around the radio and heater controls but could not detect where the clapping sound is originating from. It sounds like it is coming from the passenger side of the firewall.
JA: What is the make/model/year of your car?
Customer: 2007 Ford Explorer XLT 4WD 4.0 V6
JA: Are you fixing your Explorer yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: Read my previous note.
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: no

Hi, my name is ***** ***** is caused by a stripped out temp blend door actuator under the dash, and is common on these, are you planning on fixing this yourself?
