I have an 2002 f150 and trying to replace the serpentine belt. How do I release the tensioner? I've tries a 1/2 inch ratchet, but it doesn't want to fit.

They make a special tool for this but if the 1/2 inch dose not fit Try using a 3/8 breaker bar and or a long 3/8s ratchet and place it in the square hole and rotate the tensioner clockwise. See the steps in the link below.
