Tire bumps against curb and my 03 taurus dies - inertia

Customer Question

tire bumps against curb and my 03 taurus dies - inertia switch? the switch was not set, though, but one and half hours later the car starts okay - this has happened four times.
JA: How old are the tires? And have they been a problem in the past?
Customer: tires are fine, the tire involved is new - right rear passenger
JA: Are you fixing your Taurus yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: tried nothing but bypassing the inertia switch with a jumper wire, which didn't work
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: no

Welcome, I'm Chris (aka Moose), my normal schedule online is around lunch and after dinner till early morning.

Once you hit the curb and the car stalls, does it stall immediate or shortly there after?

Once it stalls will it at least crank?

Chris

  • What would you like to do regarding your question now.
  • This post is coming up on the 7 day mark where it times out. When a post times out, that means it's no longer on my active list (you reply and I may never know it.)
