Have Ford Questions? Ask a Mechanic for Answers ASAP
Hello my name is***** am an ASE Master Technician and I am glad to help you with your question.
You need a scan tool to check for codes in the power steering control module. You have electric power steering so there should be a code stored in the system since it is not working. This is the first step, not all scan tools are the same and able to do this. You will need a shop quality scanner a code reader which they use at the auto parts stores to get codes will not work for this.
You can check all fuses before taking it to a shop.
